Birkenstock in the Hills opened in July 2003 in the historical German town of Hahndorf. Our store is located in a character laden building that was once a black smiths shop constructed in 1880. We are a family business employing local people. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds, each bringing with them particular strengths and expertise that, when combined, helps to make our store unique. Together we appreciate well-made, supportive footwear that makes everyday life more comfortable. We want others to experience what we have already discovered…that such shoes are a lifestyle choice and, like some of the finer things in life, they can improve with age!
