Holy Spirit College is located in Mackay, a tropical haven half way between Brisbane and Cairns. The Mackay Region coastline stretches 200 km north from St Lawrence to Laguna Whitsundays, and inland to the town of Clermont. The region's colourful past is economically founded upon coal, sugar, beef and tourism.
HSC prides itself on the quality specialist facilities for Hospitality and Catering programs. We also have very modern and comprehensive facilities for the Industrial Arts (i.e. Woodwork, Metalwork and other practical subjects). Our Performing Arts Centre (PAC) accommodates programs in Drama, Dance and Music. HSC has unsurpassed facilities for the teaching of Information Technology.

Our Mission
Holy Spirit College is a Catholic co-educational college which nurtures learners through quality curriculum and supportive pastoral care based on the life and values of Jesus. Students are empowered and encouraged to recognise and develop their gifts so that they become involved as responsible community members.
College History
Emmanuel Catholic School was established on this site in 1983 with classes from Year 1 to Year 7. The first Principal was a Marist Sister, Sister Joan McBride. The following year sixty students were enrolled in Year 8 and these students completed Year 10 in 1986. The school continued as a Year 1 to Year 10 school until a preschool was established in 1992.
