St George's Health Service
St Vincent’s is a tertiary public healthcare service. We provide a range of services, including acute medical and surgical services, emergency and critical care, aged care, diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied health, mental health, palliative care and residential care. We work with a vast network of collaborative partners to deliver high quality treatment, teaching, education and research. We have more than 5,000 staff and 880 beds in daily use across our services.
St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is a private not-for profit provider of public health services. We are part of the St Vincent’s Health Australia group of companies and one of the Mary Aiken head Ministries. We have 16 sites across Melbourne. This includes a major teaching, research and tertiary referral centre situated in Fitzroy, sub-acute care at St George’s Health Service and palliative care at Caritas Christi Hospice. We also support the community with cancer services, correctional health, mental health services, pathology collection centres, general practice services, dialysis satellite centres and a range of community and outreach services.
Our Strategic Service Plan 2017 to 2025 provides the roadmap for how St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne will align our services with emerging patient needs, the political climate and the strategic direction of St Vincent’s Health Australia (https://svha.org.au/home/about-us/our-strategy-2025).
