About Us
Unity Housing is South Australia's largest and most experienced community housing provider.
We are an independent, not-for-profit, state-wide organisation with the capacity to deliver at scale and increase the supply of affordable housing for families and individuals.

We have developed successful and long-standing partnerships with more than 40 organisations that provide quality services and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for our tenants.

What We Do

Formed in 2008, Unity Housing was established as a direct response to housing affordability challenges. Unity Housing's specific strategic goal was to create new housing opportunities for people otherwise unable to access the housing market.

To this day we continue to deliver this work, providing quality property and tenancy management services to people who are on low incomes and/or have high needs – the homeless, the aged, people living with disability and/or experiencing mental illness.

We provide people with access to a wide range of housing options, including community, affordable, transitional, disability housing and boarding houses, and harness community, government, private and not-for-profit resources to develop innovative housing solutions.

FAQs
Does Unity Housing offer emergency housing?
No, we do not provide emergency or crisis housing. Phone the Homelessness Gateway Service (including families) on 1800 003 308 for assistance. Youth Gateway (persons aged between 15 and 25) - phone 1300 306 046 or 1800 807 364 (freecall from a landline). Domestic Violence and Aboriginal Family Violence Gateway - phone 1300 782 200 or 1800 800 098 (freecall from a landline). All Gateway Services are available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
How do I register for community housing?
Unity only accepts referrals to our community housing properties from organisations with which we have a formal arrangement (available on our website). You need to be a client of a support agency to be eligible for referral for our community housing. The support agency will assist you to fill out a Registration of Interest form, and possibly a Housing Needs Assessment, and will submit them to us on your behalf. If you are in the Limestone Coast area, phone 8721 4100 for details of how to apply.
I am on a waiting list for housing. When will something become available?
Unity Housing does not have a waiting list of persons seeking housing. Persons eligible for community housing are placed on the Community Housing Customer Register after being referred from a support agency from which we accept referrals. Although a person may be eligible for community housing and placed on the CHCR the register is not a waiting list and there is no guarantee of an offer. Please keep your contact details up to date so we can get in touch if a suitable property becomes available.
