About Us
On 1 July 2019, Public Transport Victoria (PTV) and VicRoads came together with the Department of Transport to create a properly integrated transport department — in step with other global cities.
We don’t plan or operate our road, tram, or rail systems separately — we run a transport network.
The new Department of Transport gives us a singular, integrated focus on tackling the big issues — from improving buses in growing suburbs to making it easier to walk and cycle places and embrace new technology.
